Kevin
I started blogging with a friend and co-worker mostly as an experiment because we were curious about Google and how they were shaping the world. We elected to do a site about investing because it was a key part of our backgrounds. I have worked for 2 brokerage houses and a regional bank for about 3 years total in my distant past. I am not associated with any formal financial company anymore and now make my living as a defense contractor developing software.
My personal slant on investing is moderate/conservative. I pick stocks based on fundamentals but use TA to determine buy and sale points. I tend to hold a company for awhile. If I sell before the first year I feel I have either been extremely lucky or I have made a horrific mistake (usually it is due to a mistake).
